C3 342: PARQUE. Podia, Plinths and Flying House / Wall Graft / Hector Fernandez Elorza

In this edition of ‘C3’, the disappearance of the classical “base” in architecture takes centre stage in ‘Podia, Plinths and Flying House’, wherein the vertical progression of contemporary buildings is investigated and redefined in an essay by Silvio Carta. Highlighted are a series of “flying houses”, such as Algarrobos House, BF House and Wind-dyed House. The issue’s second theme, ‘Wall Graft’, opens with an analysis by Nelson Mota, delving into issues surrounding the preservation, renewal and use of derelict structures.
