C3 341: Variation and Transition. Scenario for Urban Daily Life Experience / Facing the Street, I am (not) a Duck / Layering Active Urban Surface
The first issue of 2013 explores the theme of building extent and urban influence. In the opening essay, Silvio Carta asks, “How much does the operative sphere of a building range in extents?” The selection of projects in this issue illustrates varying approaches to the surroundings, as well as how these buildings influence their urban contexts on a variety of scales. Along with topical essays by Paula Melâneo, Diego Terna and Simone Corda, the featured projects include Trapeze House by Louis Paillard, Teruel-Zilla by Mi5 Arquitectos + PKMN, Basket Apartments in Paris by OFIS Arhitekti, SAIT Polytechnic Parkade by Bing Thom Architects, and several others.
