TC CUADERNOS 142: Ramón Esteve. Architecture 1996-2019

Architect and designer, Ramón Esteve stands out in both worlds, which he understands as one, and this publication includes his main works on 326 pages from 1996 until now.

Housing  constitutes the larger content of this monograph, surprising and award-winning houses such as Na Xemena, Paz y Comedias, Sardinera or the Refuge in the Vineyard, and new ones that we unveil for the first time here, with photographs, sketches and all the drawings and construction details necessary to understand each project.

All of this graphic information, much of which has been prepared on purpose for this issue of TC, helps us understand the constants of his architecture, the obsession with the creation of living spaces understood as scenarios where architecture and design form a work of total art.

From the living spaces to the workspaces with examples such as the Prince Felipe Research Center and the cultural spaces, where the Bombas Gens Art Center stands out, an example of rehabilitation of industrial architecture of the 30’s that gives back to the city of Valencia a renovated space for contemporary art exhibitions.

Product design occupies the last section, although not less important in its production, with its main designs in outdoor furniture, lighting, faucets and bathrooms produced by different companies in the sector.

With prologue and texts by Joaquim Quixal, it includes an interview with Edgar González structured around the ideas of practice, beauty, life, and future where creativity, identity, intuition and struggle against the prejudices of the profession are valued.
