The publishing company Caleidoscópio works in the area of “Architecture” for the recognition of authors or offices that distinguish themselves by their work, their lines, their essence, their synthesis or their unquestionable quality.

For this reason, we also wish to delimit at the periphery the production of architecture by no means peripheral, dense and intense, which stands out for its rigour and detail.

The Pitágoras Architects’ collective carries out its practice away from the large urban centres, in the city of Guimarães, in a market context seen as difficult due to the limitations in place.

Its work shows a concern that seeks to understand diverse programs, taking them up as challenges that are possible to develop and where functional and formal assertiveness are well-known characteristics. Its production is based on a search for the correct response to the problems presented by each project.

Rejecting the posture of those who create manifestos, they position themselves as artisans in a diffuse reality where the absence of specialization is a desired skill.

We have taken up the challenge of publishing this book, believing in giving exposure to model projects and making use of the knowledge that the reflection prompted by these works has given us.
