C3 400: Norwegian Scenic Routes / Additions: Integrating Old and New / New Heights in Urban Housing

This issue’s main feature follows Norway’s major modern tourist attraction, the National Scenic Routes: eighteen roads which navigate through beautiful and diverse landscapes. The project is internationally celebrated for its application of modern, often spectacular architecture. Along all of these routes, rest areas, viewpoints, pathways, and other elements were specially designed, largely by Norwegian architects. A second feature looks at architectural additions that integrate old and new, with recent projects by COBE, Haworth Tompkins, and others. Finally, “Urban Housing” features new, innovative solutions by BIG, WilkinsonEyre, Reinier de Graaf / OMA, and more.
