This instalment of the magazine deals with three main topics. The first investigates how the infrastructure of transportation defines the city, emphasising the need in recent years to adapt older stations to accommodate growing populations or changing technologies. Featured are twin metro stations in Budapest by Spora, Rotterdam Central Station by Team CS, and Sydney’s White Bay Cruise Terminal, among others. The second theme looks at the important role urban public spaces like squares and malls play in community identity and connectivity. Finally, “Traditional Modernity” considers minimalistic yet meaningful approaches in contemporary Japanese homes.
