Recent transformations in approaches to urban housing projects are the primary theme in this issue, which examines the contemporary paradigm shift with respect to dwellings from the standpoint of its history, the repercussions of 20th-century modernism, and the complex social phenomena involved in the conceptualisation and success (or failure) of housing projects. Examples include social housing in Paris by KOZ Architectes and Red Apple Apartments by Aedes Studio. A second theme centres around current trends in architectural realisations for municipal governments, from Wexford County Council by Robin Lee Architecture to Bilbao City Hall by IMB Arquitectos.
