This issue features the most recent wave of construction in Berlin, Germany. After the fall of the Berlin Wall, the city became a cultural capital that attracted young creatives. It offered opportunities for cross-disciplinary experiments and collaborations for well-designed, affordable housing that differed to the post-Reunification styles. Highlighting fourteen recent works that range from the restoration of the Neues Museum to the conversion of an abandoned grocery store into a residence, they represent a new chapter in the city’s architectural styles and values. Thematic essays on Museum Island, Schinkelplatz, and the Tempelhof site are also included.
