This edition of the magazine introduces fourteen recent works that have emerged from their relationship with the urban structure or their process of development, and have the potential to influence and transform the surrounding context. Special focus is given to the conception of the projects as driven by various tactics, whether that be working with residents, relating to neighbouring buildings, or diversifying the programme. Among the featured works are Rotterdam’s Water square Benthemplein by De Urbanisten, Emerson College Los Angeles by Morphosis, Encants Barcelona by b720 Fermín Vásquez Arquitectos, and a surprising childcare centre in Selb.
