Walter Dietl Arnold Gapp Werner Tscholl: Drei Vinschgauer Architekten Im Portrait/Ritratto Di Tre Architetti Venostani/Portraits Of Three Val Venosta Architects
a cura di Bettina Schlorhaufer
The work of these three offices in the Vinschgau region of Southern Tyrol covers administration and residential buildings, schools and sports facilities. It also includes unconventional alpine projects, such as Dietl's designs for stations and outbuildings for the Val Venosta railway, Tscholl's revitalisation of a medieval castle for use as a school, and Gapp's design of a funicular.
The book presents various projects by all three, interwoven with essays, biography and an interview with mountaineer and museum expert Reinhold Messner. It reaffirms Austria's status as a hotbed of modern traditional architecture.
